Wheel straightening can be required when damaging one of your alloy wheels from an impact while driving, most commonly potholes on the road. Buckled wheels can cause uncomfortable driving in the form of noise, vibration also accelerates wear on suspension parts. 


How we fix buckled alloy wheels requires a professionally trained member of staff to carry this work out using a wheel straightening machine, under no circumstances allow anyone to use a hammer as a fix this can result in a cracked wheel or render the wheel unfixable. Firstly the alloy is placed on the wheel straightener & marking of flat spots are done with the depth gauge, we then gently bring the alloy wheel to the temperatures needed to remove any buckles carefully using 

the tools available to carry out buckled alloy wheel repairs.


After the alloy wheel has been straightened removing any bent, flat spots & twists in the wheel, we now refit the tyre to the correct pressure set and the wheel is balanced the fitted to the car.

We always recommend replacing any cracked wheels though we understand this isn't always viable at the time with the unexpected high costs of a new wheel and most OEM alloy wheels now with a starting price from £800+VAT per wheel. 


Cracked alloy wheel repairs are a cost effective way to keep you on the road & no more inconvenient refilling your tyres with air passing through the cracked alloy wheel, welding a wheel usually takes around an hour to complete the job. Firstly we remove the tyre then a hole is drilled at the end of the crack to stop spreading any further, the crack is then cut through and a channel is grooved for welding and ensuring full penetration of the metal the weld is complete, the wheel weld is now dressed and primed to stop corrosion. 


The tyre is then refitted and balanced ready to go back on the car.
